Before you install

A Windows host.
A client you choose.

Rift Conduit runs on the computer you connect to. A separate SFTP client runs on the computer you connect from.

Installation and connection requirements
Host system	Windows 11 x64 or Windows Server 2022/2025 with Desktop Experience. Administrator access is required. Server Core and domain controllers are not supported.
Included OpenSSH source	The installer includes matching sources for Windows 11 Home/Pro 22H2, 23H2, 24H2 and 25H2, and Windows Server 2022/2025. Existing compatible OpenSSH is reused. Other releases need compatible OpenSSH already installed.
Windows runtime	Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 or newer must already be installed. A Windows restart may be required while preparing components.
Network	IPv4 connectivity to the host on TCP port 22. Direct internet access may require router forwarding and a cloud firewall rule. Tailscale is optional and must be configured separately.
Client application	A compatible SFTP file browser or remote-drive client. Clients are available for Windows, macOS and Linux; the included guide links to several options.
License activation	Internet access for explicit activation of the supplied ten-digit key. Normal registered operation checks the saved license locally.

01 / YOUR WINDOWS HOST

Install Rift Conduit.

Install on the Windows computer holding your files. Start the 48-hour trial or activate your license.

02 / YOUR CONNECTION

Set up access.

Enter the client’s source IPv4, select Turn On and create a separate administrative account. Keep its connection details secure.

03 / YOUR SFTP CLIENT

Connect to your files.

From a compatible SFTP client, use the host’s reachable address, port 22 and your authorized account. Network reachability must be configured.

Your trial is an explicit choice.

Installing the software does not start the trial or open an SFTP listener. Start the trial or activate a key, choose your connection settings, and select Turn On when you are ready.

Keep your license key.

A normal in-place upgrade preserves registration. Uninstalling removes it, so reinstalling requires your key and online activation again. Reinstalling does not restart the free trial.
